Why a second approach exists at all

Mount Batur has more than one way up. The overwhelming majority of tours use the main trail from near Toya Bungkah, because that is where the association's operation is centred and where the vehicles can park. Alternative approaches exist on other flanks and are used by a fraction of the traffic.
